Córdoba, a symbol of religious tolerance.


WRITE A SHORT PARAGRAPH (40 WORDS) ABOUT CORDOBA AS A CITY OF TOLERANCE (THREE CULTURES, MOSQUE, ETC.). EVERY WRITING MUST BE DIFFERENT FROM THE OTHERS. TRY TO USE SOME WORDS RELATED TO THE MEZQUITA APPEARING IN THIS VIDEO. LISTEN CAREFULLY.

  1. Cordoba lies in Andalusia. Here, there is a roman bridge over the Guadalquivir.For 2000 years, people from diverse religious backgrounds have set foot on it. Cordoba became the capital of Al-Andalus during Islamic rule that Cordoba reached the height of its beauty, and was hailed as the "jewel of the West".
    The mosque is the larggest in Europe Massive double arches support the 850 columns, the pillars were built in a variety of architectural styles. The shape of the arches are said to have been created based on Roman buildings techniques.

  2. The Great Mosque of Cordoba was originally a pagan temple, the mosque is regarded as the most accomplished monument of the Caliphate of Córdoba.
    It began to built in 786 buy Abderraman I. It has 23.400 square meters and it is the biggest second mosque of the world behind the mosque of the Meca.
    Today, it is considered the first one of the 12 Treasures of Spain.

Córdoba is in Andalucía in spain it´s was the capital of AL-Andaluz in the caliphate and in the emirate , in Cordoba live the muslim of course and they have the power there live the jews too they live in a determinate zone called " La Juderia " in spanish or The jewry in english there live the christians too they live in the same zone of the muslim some of them praid to the muslim god or other to the Christians god.
