Time zones and time changes

As you probably know we live in a divided world in terms of time.
What time is it? This appears to be an easy question
but in reality it is more complicated.

You will have to look at this information provided by BBC News,
and then you will answer these questions at home, using the comments:
  • How many time zones are there in the world?
  • How many time zones are there in Spain? How many in Europe?
  • What are the circumstances of the girl in Indiana (USA)?
  • What time is it now in Antartica?
  • When and why do we change our time twice a year, moving  forward or backward our clocks by one hour?
  • What is the International Date Line?
  • How many time zones did Russia have before the country decided to reduce them to nine?
  • In the International Space Station the astronauts can see a lot of sunsets and sunrises. How many of them every day?

TRAJAN: A good Roman Emperor

Look at the roman coin. This is the legend:

IMP TRAIANO AVG GER DAC PM TR P COS V PP
. Imperator. Trajan. Augustus. Germanicus. Dacicus. Pontifex Maximus. Tribuniciae Potestate. Consul V. Pater Patriae.

TRAJANO: Emperador Trajano. Augusto. Germánico, Dácico. Pontífice Máximo. Con potestad tribunicia. Cónsul por quinta vez. Padre de la Patria.

Ok! Beautiful coin! Now you have to answer two questions. (wiki or whatever)
1. Where was Trajan born?
2. Was he a good emperor or not? Why?

St. Patrick's Day

17 March is St Patrick's Day. St Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland and you already know many things about Ireland: its capital city, its symbols (the harp, the shamrock), the leprechauns, beer, etc. So here is a video with some beautiful pictures of Ireland with traditional Irish music. Enjoy it!

Afternoon Tea

Everybody knows that British people like tea. In fact, tea is considered the national drink. They drink tea at all times, not only at 5 o'clock. Afternoon tea is a light meal usually at that time. You have small sandwiches, pastry and tons of tea!!! As you can see in the pictures, everybody liked the food. However, tea was a bit more difficult to digest! Well, at least you learnt a couple of words (kettle, teapot, mug), didn't you?
